Hi! I’m Brandin Roa. I partner with my clients to renew and restore their health and vitality. Together, we build personalized health plans using simple yet powerful diet and lifestyle interventions aimed at removing obstacles to healing while inviting relief and remedy from a host of health challenges.

Health and wellness have been a part of my life since I was very young. My parents created a healthy lifestyle at home, from the whole food diet my mom prepared to the sports and exercise-rich leisure time we enjoyed together as a family.

I graduated from university with a degree in business and spent 15 years as a marketing professional. I maintained my healthy lifestyle during this time but it wasn’t until I met my husband that it became forefront in my mind.  He was racing in 72-hour endurance, multi-discipline events, which were a far cry from my 45-minute squash match or 10 km run! These intense activities called for radical dietary shifts, and I readily embraced the challenge. I found myself engrossed in whatever nutrition material I could get my hands on. Soon thereafter, I formalized my education in nutrition, completing my Diploma in Holistic Nutrition, and left the corporate world to start my clinical practice.

In the early days of starting my nutrition counselling practice, my dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable type of blood cancer. My dad’s health crisis propelled me to obtain my Certified Professional Cancer Coach certification. It also illuminated a significant gap in our healthcare approach - a gap where the health of the whole person is often overlooked.

This was a pivotal moment for me. I knew then that my mission was to be a part of a solution that fills the gaps in healthcare – one that focuses on delivering personalized health counselling to help heal the whole person.

This mission, fueled by unrelenting curiosity and an appetite to learn, led me to functional medicine and becoming certified as a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner. A functional nutrition approach means that I pay heed to the history and environment in which illness or discomforts arise in each of my clients, the diet and lifestyle factors that contribute to the issues, and the interventions that truly enable healing to occur.

Over time, I’ve established a thriving nutrition counselling practice that bridges these very gaps to transform the health and lives of my clients.

Today, my clients include those struggling with digestive complaints, mysterious skin rashes, unexplained joint pain, weight issues and other daily annoyances to those navigating more serious illnesses like cancer, autoimmunity (Hashimoto's, rheumatoid arthritis, Celiac disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, etc.) and other diagnosed conditions that they are unable to get a handle on.

I believe that the best expression of our health is shaped by controllable health factors like diet and nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress resilience, exercise, spirituality, and our connections with one another.

These factors are the keys to unlock our potential for our best expression of health.

All too often, we chalk health issues, big and small, up to something beyond our control - the aging process or our genetic inheritance. And commonly prescribed pills, protocols and other one-size-fit all remedies are often only band-aids offering temporary relief. This doesn’t have to be our fate.”

What People Are Saying

“My disease is, they say, incurable, but I know with your help I am doing the best I can do, given the circumstances.  That is invaluable to my spirit! Your good spirit, realistic approach to difficult questions, and gentle encouragement were just what I needed.  I am grateful for each day I have been able to work with you. ”

— Emily C (living with multiple myeloma)

“Brandin’s insights and advice were a breath of fresh air for me during my health crisis.  Although I received excellent care from the medical professionals, they were there to treat my symptoms rather than find the root of the problem.  With Brandin’s holistic approach I was able to mitigate my atrial fibrillation symptoms, and eliminate the medication. Since then I am happy to say that my digestion and energy have improved immensely. ”

— Cheryl M ( atrial fibrillation, Hashimoto’s support )

“I felt that Brandin was the only person who believed in me and for the first time in years I did not feel hopeless. Brandin provided me with so many different strategies to manage my symptoms and continued to fine tune my program until it was perfect for me. This summer I ran my first half marathon and I did not have to stop once to go to the bathroom! None of this would have been possible without Brandin and I truly owe her so much for helping me get my life back.”

— Christine H (support with debilitating diarrhea resulting from Celiac disease)

“I was thrilled when you first met with my mom. Not only does she look so much healthier but she feels so much better too. But, of course, none of this would be possible without your guidance and amazing support.  Thank you for continuing to persevere through Mom's challenges and caring so much for her well being. You are incredible.”

— Laureen D (mom supported with liver and gall bladder issues, limitations from autoimmunity)

“You really inspire me to try harder! I thoroughly love that you explain why you are suggesting the next move, so that I can understand why it is important and how it will work. As always, you were totally supportive and inspirational today!”

— Susan W (support for multiple autoimmune conditions, digestive discomforts)

“I'm more in tune with why I feel the way I do and I have control over knowing what to change to correct things when my schedule and lifestyle challenges my healthy routine.  My most tangible results have been a moderated energy level (limited highs and lows), improved sleep, and better mental clarity (especially in the mornings). I simply feel better overall.”

— Brad G (senior executive struggling with brain cognition and sleep concerns)
